With roughly 20 percent of the total population of UCCS being military-affiliated, many veteran students find a place they can call home in UCCS. Please read our specific military transfer student information below.

We have services that can help and support you in your transition toward an invaluable education experience. Begin fueling your future success today.

Resources

You are considered a transfer student if you have 24 credit hours of completed, college coursework. While we will transfer in credit from a JST or CCAF transcript, these documents cannot be used for admission purposes, and do not count toward the 24 credit hour minimum. If you have less than 24 credits, you can still apply to UCCS; you will need to submit a high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores along with a freshman admissions application. Students who have not taken the ACT or SAT are encouraged to complete 24 credits at Pikes Peak Community College. Please email us for assistance with course selection: transfer@uccs.edu.

UCCS is proud to waive the application fees for those who have served and have the status of Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Veteran.

  1. SELF EVALUATION OF TRANSFER CREDIT
Prospective students wondering about their eligibility for Green to Gold at UCCS should start by roughly adding up the numbers of college credits they have. To be eligible for Green to Gold and complete a degree in two years students need approximately 60 transferable credit hours. The maximum number of credits a student can earn from a JST is 18 credit hours. You can review our military transfer credit policy
here to assist with your estimation of transfer credit. Even if another college of institution has awarded you more credit for your JST you can still only receive a maximum of 18 hours at UCCS.
  2. PRE-SCREEN
If after your initial estimates you believe you are on track the Office of Admissions can also pre-screen your transcripts before you apply. This review will not provide you with an exact number of transfer credits. To get an unofficial evaluation you can e-mail
transfer@uccs.edu. Please include, unofficial transcripts from each college or university previously attended. In your e-mail please include when your Green to Gold application packet is due and when you are trying to enroll at UCCS.
  3. APPLY
If after the pre-screening in Admissions you identify UCCS as a fit the next step is to apply. Your application fee is waived. When you apply submit official transcripts from each college or university you have previously attended. It takes 2-4 weeks to get an admissions decision from the time you submit all your application materials.
  4. ADMITTED STUDENTS COMPLETE GREEN TO GOLD PAPERWORK WITH ADVISING
Once a student is admitted they can work with the Academic Advising Offices to complete Green to Gold application paperwork. During high volume times it may take some time to complete the paperwork with Advising.

Please work directly with our Office of Veteran and Military Affairs to complete your Academic Worksheet. You can contact their office at military@uccs.edu.
