UCCS strives to provide transition assistance in the form of financial, social, and academic support for all veteran and military service members and their families. We believe that one of the keys to veteran success at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is providing transition support to our students. We take pride in assisting our military-affiliated students during their transition into college life.
Programs and Support
We’re here to help you transition to success
Our community of veterans, both students and faculty, understand the challenges individuals and families face when transitioning from service to school. Our Student Veteran Center employees can give you guidance and mentorship to better understand work environments. Connect with peers through the Student Veteran Organization. Find comprehensive health care through our Wellness Center and Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic. Books for Battle Buddies will allow you to purchase reduced-cost textbooks. We give you the tools you need to succeed at UCCS and beyond
Funding your Education
There are many ways to afford your education from UCCS
As a transferring military student, there are many ways to afford your education from UCCS, including the Chapter 33 GI Bill benefit. You may apply for this benefit for the first time or transfer it to UCCS. Find forms for applying or transferring via the Veterans Affairs website. You may also use scholarships. The Fry Scholarship pays education benefits to the surviving spouses and children of service members. If you're an enlisted soldier, Army ROTC can help you continue to grow and learn. The Army “Green to Gold” program provides options for Soldiers interested in pursuing a baccalaureate or graduate degree and earning a commission as an Army Officer.
