Becoming a Student

Becoming a Student

Fuel your success
Follow These Simple Steps

Transferring to UCCS and becoming a student begins with your transfer application. If your application is accepted and you are admitted to UCCS, you can claim your student account, apply for scholarships, submit your Free Application for Student Federal Aid (FAFSA), and register for your Transfer Student Orientation session. Find information on admissions, student accounts, funding, and transfer orientation below.

Claim Your Account
If you have been admitted, you can claim your student account
It will take our Office of Information Technology at least 1-2 days to create your new student account. Once this happens, you must claim your new account. Doing so allows you to set up your student email and access the Student Portal. As a newly admitted student, you can log into the student portal to use resources, apply for scholarships, and more
Register for Orientation Today
We’re excited to have you join us for orientation
To successfully transfer, you are required to attend an orientation session. This orientation typically lasts four hours and is designed to help you become familiar with campus, learn about campus resources, meet other new students, get advising help, and register for your classes. Classes do fill up so attending an EARLY orientation will help you have a successful transition. We can’t wait to help you take your first step to becoming a Mountain Lion.
Fund Your Success
Part of becoming a student is funding your education
Once you have been admitted and claimed your student account, you may submit your Free Application for Student Federal Aid (FAFSA), begin applying for scholarships, and learn more about funding.
